2011 - Le Mont Saint Michel - Illustration

Le Mont-Saint-Michel is a commune of France, south-western department of La Manche and region of Lower Normandy. It owes its name to the rocky island dedicated to Saint Michel which stands the abbey of Mont Saint-Michel. The architecture of Mont Saint-Michel and its bay make it the third most visited tourist site in France (behind the Eiffel Tower and the Palace of Versailles) with over three million visitors each year. The site, in whole, appears since 1979 on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
